Astonishing azaleas of all kinds: Red, white, and pink

Asano Park has its beginnings as the former estate of Lord Asano Nagamasa, a general during Japan's tumultuous Warring States period, but is also home to the Azalea Festival every late April when 1,000 of the bushes show their spring colors. Brass band concerts by Ichinomiya City junior high school and high school students, taiko drum performances, and other stage events as well as a stamp scavenger hunt are planned.
