41st Arimatsu Shibori Tie-Dye Festival
Date: Jun 6,2026(Sat)、Jun 7(Sun)
A fantastic festival for an intimate look into Nagoya's historic art of dyeing
The Arimatsu townscape along the Tokaido Road and Arimatsu-Narumi Shibori tie-dyeing—throughout history, the craftsmen of that very townscape have continued the tradition of the town's famous tie-dye art.
The dyeing style has been passed through generations in this historic town and shows its brilliance through pieces available for sale as well as a hands-on program combining the dyeing arts during this fun-filled festival. Get a feel for the area's culture through a parade, ornately decorated parade floats, karakuri mechanized puppet performances, and more as Arimatsu opens its arms to all.
