The TOKAI ECO FESTA fuses together eco-friendly ideas and handicrafts under the theme of "Stylishly Eco-Friendly". Eco-friendly events of a myriad of styles take place all over Japan, acting as the bud for various ways of thinking and dreams to blossom. The Tokai region's event serves to spread the message of placing importance on material items and stressing that handmade creation itself is an eco-friendly act.
At the present, mass production and mass consumption are rampant, and so this event embraces end-of-life products as a means to create new things such as clothing and a wide array of other proeducts. This eco-friendly movement may not create a sudden change, but the idea and ability to do so is within everyone's reach. In a small-scale manner, we can all create stylish new items in an eco-friendly fashion. If nothing else, spreading this idea as one we can all believe in is an important aspect of the event.
