Aichi is famous for its melon production, and places number six in all of Japan! Tahara City in the Atsumi Peninsula region is especially famous for its muskmelons with multiple facilities letting your pick your own. Each farm offers all-you-can-eat plans with muskmelons and other varieties. Some spots even let you add on BBQ options, making for an incredible day of leisure, food, and fun!

If the biggest melons on the Atsumi Peninsular are what you're after, then set your sights on New Atsumi Kano Farm! This establishment offers a hands-on harvest of sweet, juicy melons from June to August. Other experiences are also available as well as all-you-can-eat plans in fully air-conditioned, indoor environment.

Only one melon per tree is grown for the ultimate flavor packed into each muskmelon. Enjoy not only the fantastic flavor but the beautiful netted outside texture as well. While you're at Nikken Farm, try their sweet Fresh Melon Juice and Melon Shaved Ice.

Tahara CityAtsumi Tourism Marutake Farm
Atsumi Peninsula is home to what seems like an eternal spring with the sun shining and sea breeze blowing off the Pacific Ocean and thus offers tasty melons like nowhere else. Korotan melons are readily available at Atsumi Tourism Marutake Farm from late June to early August. Muskmelons typically only grow on fruit per vine, but Korotan melons provide a multiple melon bounty.

Strawberry Park MIFUNE grows not only strawberries but melons—Korotan melons, which are a rarity in Aichi Prefecture. The cantaloupe variety boasts a golden skin with the meat of the fruit a beautiful green. Plus with a thin skin and few seeds, it's easy to enjoy the sweetness no matter the size. Gamagori City is famous for its Gamagori Mandarin Oranges, but also offers thick, sweet muskmelons grown in greenhouses. Choose from a variety of plans, such as a harvest plan, 30-min. all-you-can-eat melon plan, and tasting plan depending on the establishment's schedule.
