Omotehama Coast
As picturesque as it gets in Toyohashi City
Located in southern Aichi Prefecture's city of Toyohashi, this coastline and beach faces the open sea of the Pacific Ocean. The coast, affectionately known by locals as the "Omotehama Coast", stretches along the Sea of Enshu about 50 kilometers east from Cape Irago to Lake Hamana in neighboring Shizuoka Prefecture. The coast is also famous as a rest stop for migratory birds. You can see honey buzzards before the arrival of winter, gray-faced buzzards in winter, and little terns in summer. The long sandy beach is also called "Katahama Jusanri.”
