Hisaya-odori Park
A wide-open space in the center of Nagoya, under a retro TV broadcasting tower
Hisaya-odori Park is located in the middle of Hisaya-odori Road, which runs north to south through Nagoya's downtown area of Sakae. The two kilometers or so of space between Wakamiya-odori Street to the south and Sotobori-dori Street to the north is a great place to relax in the city. In the center is the TV Tower—a symbol of Nagoya—and throughout the year there is a never-ending flow of events and crowds of people.
Hisaya-odori Park reopened in September 2020 with a new take on rest and relaxation
The TV Tower area and northern area within Hisaya-odori Park became a unified park and shopping space, with a grand reopening on September 18, 2020.
A brand-new shopping complex within the park, RAYARD Hisaya-odori Park features popular stores from across Japan, introducing a total of around 35 places to shop and eat (21 of which were new to Nagoya at the time). As an everyday place for rest and relaxation, the park offers various services in fashion, sports, gourmet food, and more.
Angel Park’s numerous squares
The inside of the park is divided into areas with various different themes.
The southern area, running from Wakamiya-dori Street to Hirokoji-dori Street, is home to the Fountain of Hope; numerous springs of water shooting up from the ground at Angel Square; expansive Hisaya Square and the numerous events and concerts it holds; and Hikari no Hiroba Square, where collaborate fountain and laser shows as well as light displays take place.
