Kanzokashiki Washi Japanese Papermaking
Date: Jan 16,2026(Fri)
Kanzokashiki is the winter tradition of Toyota City's Obara area. So, what is it? Kanzokashiki is a process in Japanese papermaking where paper mulberry is steamed, then stripped of the outer bark until only the tough pliant inner bark is left—the raw material which will afterwards be cleaned, pounded, and stretched.
Anyone is free to join, so come and experience it for yourself.
| Holding time | From 11:00 am (steaming planned to end by 11:00 am). Notes: • Afternoon session to be decided based on the amount of paper mulberry. |
