Ryusenji Temple (Niomon Gate)

It is said that this temple was founded by Saicho and built during the Enryaku period (782-806).
It is one of the Four Kannons of Owari.
Around 400 years ago, Ieyasu designated the Four Kannons of Owari as protectors for Nagoya Castle. The temples all lay in an unlucky direction in relation to the castle's construction.
