Narita-san Mampukuin Temple Setsubun Bean Throwing Ceremony
Date: Feb 3,2026(Tue)
"Fuku wa uchi!"
Narita-san Mampukuin Temple is located in central Nagoya, and considered to be in one of the lucky locations of Japanese superstition, it is visited by many during its mame-maki, or bean throwing, festival during the Setsubun holiday.
At the Main Hall, you can undergo a blessing for a lucky year before receiving beans you throw all around yelling "Fuku wa uchi! (Come, good fortune!)", cleansing any ill fortune from yourself. The event acts as a means to gain health in the new year.
